The reports of the deceased were forwarded by SMCH authorities to State Death Audit Board for their final certification. It needs mention here that the State Audit Board is authorised to certify the deaths of corona positive patients as either Covid death or Non-Covid death.

In a message to Covid patients and their relatives, Dr Bhaskar Gupta said that many a times Covid positive patients are brought to the hospital in a serious stage. At that moment, the oxygen level dips too low and the patient is confronted with problems in respiration. “So on behalf of SMCH, I would like to request that such patients having breathing problems or who are symptomatic and are in home isolation, please don’t waste time. Immediately bring such patients to SMCH. This is beacuse if the oxygen level goes too down, then many times it can be fatal. So please bring fast such patients to the hospital so that we can have time to save them.”
