Setback for Akhil Gogoi-led Raijor Dal; It’s chief advisor Dr Hiren Gohain resigns as Advisor
March 3: Just on the face of the Assam Assembly Elections, 2021, the chief advisor of the newly floated Raijor Dal tendered his resignation. On Wednesday, Dr Hiren Gohain snapped ties with the Akhil Gogoi-led Raijor Dal. Citing differences with Akhil Gogoi, Dr. Gohain took this decision. Dr. Hiren Gohain said that he became bound to quit the party due to the ‘immature political knowledge’ of Akhil Gogoi.
Infact, the resignation of the founding member comes after Akhil Gogoi in his letter has openly sought strategic partnership with Congress minus the AIUDF. Speaking to the media Dr Gohain said, “Akhil Gogoi’s latest decision has gone against my long-term opinion. After this, I won’t have little responsibility for any of their actions.” He further added, ““Due to Akhil’s letter and his decisions, I am bound to quit the party as chief advisor.”
