17 tests +ve in Cachar on Monday, tally reaches 10,910

Active cases 159 in Cachar

Nov. 30: On Monday, a total of 17 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1812 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 13 persons were found positive, whereas 04 were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Monday night.

With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 10,910. Further, a total of 10,714 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 37 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 159 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 09 persons were found positive in Cachar on Sunday.

In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Monday said that in the last 24 hours, Throat swab of another 242 persons were collected. 533 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which, 04 tested positive. Further, 531 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done at SMCH in the last 24 hours, out of which, 05 were found positive.

Apart from this, 01 new patient of COVID-19 was admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours but none were discharged. At present, there are 17 active patients at SMCH, out of which 03 are critical. The patients who are at present in critical condition are: Fulerun Nessa, Sukla Dastidar and Bidith Kr. Choudhury. A total of 07 patients are admitted in ICU, whereas 04 of them are put under oxygen support and 01 of them is kept in ventilator support.

Dr. Gupta further informed that in the last 24 hours, none have died due to COVID-19 at SMCH. As of now, there were 173 COVID related deaths in SMCH. Of the 173 deaths, 63 of them were certified by the State Death Audit Board as COVID-19 confirmed deaths.
