Protest staged in Meghalaya in support of immediate implementation of ILP

Nov. 27: Meghalaya Social Organisations (CoMSO),confederation of several organisations, staged a protest demonstration for the immediate implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP). On Friday, CoMSO put up banners in many public places of Shillong like Motphran, Khyndai Lad etc in support of their demand of ILP.

Various slogans in support of their demand were put up wherein it was written, “Modi we need ILP, Amit Shah we need ILP, we need ILP,” “Yes ILP, no CAA.” They vehemeently criticised the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Spearheaded by the Hyñiewtrep Youth Council (HYC), the CoMSO is a conglomerate of more than 12 organisations in Khasi Jaiñtia and Garo Hills of Meghalaya which has been demanding implementation of the ILP.
