18-month old baby dies at SMCH

Nov. 08: The coronavirus pandemic has now led to a procession of death also in Barak Valley. Since the last few days, the valley witnessed many deaths, although all of them were not certified as COVID-19 deaths. However, this also cannot be ruled out that all of them were infected with coronavirus. Those COVID positive persons who die due to comorbidities are usually not certified as ‘Covid-19’ death by the State Death Audit Board.

On Sunday, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) informed that in the last 24 hours, the Valley witnessed 01 more death at Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH). The deceased from Cachar district was identified as a 18 months old baby (Son of Imdadur Rahman Majumder) from Jalalpur.

The baby was admitted at SMCH on 6 November, 2020. The 18 months old baby died at 12.30 AM on 8 November. The death was certified as Non-Covid death by the State Death Audit Board.
