With 31 more COVID-19 +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar reaches 104 on Thursday

Sept. 24: Another 31 new cases of COVID-19 positive were detected on Tuesday night as per the 3rd slot of RT-PCR Test results. With this, the day’s total has now reached 104 in Cachar district. During the day, 54 persons were found positive in Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT), whereas 50 persons were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 8,496. It needs mention here that 47 persons were found positive in Cachar on Wednesday.

In the 1st slot of RT-PCR Test Results, 06 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Cachar district on Thursday. They are a 52-year-old male from Mashimpur Military Station, 70-year-old male from Lane N0 6L, Sainik Park; 50-year-old female from Bihara Bazar, 23-year-old female from Bihara Bazar, 36-year-old female from Goragram and 26-year-female from Joypur.

In the 2nd slot of RT-PCR Test results, 13 persons were detected positive. All of them are asymptomatic. They came in direct contact with high risk lab confirmed cases. One of them is a 44-year-old female from Vivekananda Road, Silchar. Three of them, a 72 years old female, a 14 years old male and a 76 years old male tested positive and are from Joypur Part-III. Another 32 years old male from Mahanambrata Sarani, Silchar was also detected positive. Apart from them, 8 more persons in this slot were detected COVID-19 positive. These 8 persons are from IGAR Camp, Silchar.

In the 3rd slot of RT-PCR Test results, 31 persons were found positive. Out of them, 25 are with travel history. These 25 air passengers who were tested positive during the day are:

  • 29-year-old female from Banipara: Air passenger from Guwahati
  • 50 years old female from Dholcherra: Air passenger from Delhi
  • 40 years old female from Itkhola: Air passenger from Tezpur
  • 43 years old male from Panpatty: Air passenger from Delhi
  • 52 years old female from Panpatty: Air passenger from Delhi
  • 17 years old male from Panpatty: Air passenger from Delhi
  • 15 years old male from Panpatty: Air passenger from Delhi
  • 48 years old male from Udharbond: Air passenger from Bangalore
  • 54 years old male from Kalibari Road, Tarapur: Air passenger from Jaipur
  • 65 years old female from Ashram Road: Air passenger from Kolkata
  • 68 years old male from Ambicapatty: Air passenger from West Bengal
  • 42 years old male from Shillongpatty: Air passenger from Bangalore
  • 26 years old male from Dayapur CRPF: Air passenger from Kolkata
  • 29 years old male from Mashimpur BSF: Air passenger from West Bengal
  • 37 years old male from NIT Silchar: Air passenger from Hyderabad
  • 42 years old male from Ranighat: Air passenger from Mumbai
  • 60 years old male from Kalicharan Road, Tarapur: Air passenger from Bangalore
  • 31 years old male from Nazirpatty: Air passenger from Kolkata

Apart from them, three pregnant women in near labour were also tested positive. They are 25 years old female from Tarapur (presently admitted at SMCH), 27 years old female from Borbond (presently admitted at SMCH) and 39 years old female from Sewti Pt-III (presently admitted at SMCH). One person in pre-operative stage was also found positive. He is a 72 years old male from Sonai Road. Two others in this slot whose source of infection was not mentioned in the SRF are 22 years old female from Borakhai Tea Estate and 33 years old male from Kazidor Sonai.

In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Thursday said that in the last 24 hours, 222 persons were screened at SMCH. Throat swab of another 563 persons were collected. 425 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which, 09 of them tested positive. Further, 121 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done at SMCH in the last 24 hours, out of which, 13 were found positive.

Apart from this, 12 new patients of COVID-19 were admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours and 11 were discharged. At present, there are 125 active patients at SMCH,out of which, 16 are admitted in ICU and 02 in ventilation. 28 patients are now in critical condition. Another 36 patients are now under oxygen support. Further, 161 persons have donated plasma which was administered upon 302 patients.

Dr. Gupta further informed that in the last 24 hours, 02 persons have died due to COVID-19 at SMCH, out of which, one is from Cachar, whereas the other is from Karimganj. As of now, there were 143 COVID related deaths in SMCH. Of the 143 deaths, 58 of them were certified by the State Death Audit Board as COVID-19 confirmed deaths.
