Sept. 22: In a written response to a question raised in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has visited 58 countries since 2015 at a total cost of ₹ 517.82 crore. He also listed the countries visited by PM Modi from March 2015 to November 2019 along with the details of treaties and agreements signed by India during these visits.

It was informed that the Prime Minister made five visits each to the US, Russia and China, and multiple trips to some other countries like Singapore, Germany, France, Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates. The Prime Minister’s last trip abroad was to Brazil (in November 2019) to attend a BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) summit. PM Modi has made no visits in 2020 because of the global lockdown over the coronavirus pandemic.

To a question on the outcomes of the PM Modi’s foreign travel, the minister said that the visits have strengthened India relations with foreign countries across a wide range of sectors including trade and investment, technology, maritime, space and defence collaboration.
