Leo Club Of Silchar Central organises online talk show ‘alapcharita’ with Dr. Monika Deb

August  31: On the occasion of National Women’s Equality Day, 2020, Leo Club Of Silchar Central organised an online interactive session entitled “Alapcharita” with eminent gynecologist Dr. Monika Deb. Leo Preeti Sharma moderated the online talk show. Women’s Equality Day celebrates the achievements of women’s rights activists and reminds us of the unique daily struggles that women face.

Dr. Monika Deb addressed a lot of issues related to gynecology, like how menstrual hygiene is important for girls, sex education in today’s time etc. It was an interactive session which received good response. Netizens posed a lot of questions to Dr. Monika Deb during the live session.

Further, Dr. Deb during the ‘Alapcharita’ with Preeti Sharma also narrated her experience in the Covid ward as she also tested positive. She urged upon the people not to panic and follow the instructions of the doctors. At the end of the session, Dr. Deb asked all the youths to have an optimistic attitude towards life and set a goal in life.  She also asked them to be friendly with their parents and to reach out to them when in need.

Expressing her views, Leo Ananya Pandit, Public Relation Officer (PRO) of Leo Club Of Silchar Central, said how important it was for the club to conduct such an insightful session wherein viewers got the opportunity to ask direct questions about menstrual hygiene from an eminent gynecologist like Dr, Monika Deb. She further added, ” “The successful session of ‘Alapcharita’ with Dr. Deb itself proves how youths of our valley understand the importance of menstrual hygiene and don’t shy away from asking questions related to this.”
