Assam registers 8 more COVID-19 deaths on Tuesday, tally rises to 260

August 25: Along with the increase in the number of coronavirus cases, the COVID-19 death graph in Assam is also in its upward surge. On Tuesday, 8 more persons lost their lives due to COVID-19, thereby taking the death tally of the state to 260. This was confirmed in a tweet by State Health Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. The deceased were identified as:

• Usha Das (70), Aparna Roy (48), Nayana Das (21) from Kamrup Metro
• Labanya Bhuyan (65) from Nalbari
• Masfil Hussain (55) from Baksa
• Ajay Kr Gupta (40) from Karbi Anglong
• Jhantu Deb (46) from Golaghat
• Bishnu Biswas (55) from Majuli
