Pt. Sanjoy Prakash Das & Jnanashree to feature live at Vengo Land on 22 August

August 22: The outbreak of coronavirus pandemic followed by nationwide lockdown had captivated people inside their house. It was at that juncture that a musical group Vengo Land was formed by eminent singer Venu Gopal. This is a virtual group in Facebook and its members are ever increasing. Every weekend, one can see musical performances by both amateur artists and those well established in the industry.

Informing about this, admin Venugopal and Paramita Paul of Vengo Land Facebook Page said, “This weekend stay tuned to Vengo Land to watch the father-daughter duo of Pt. Sanjoy Prakash Das and Ms. Jnanashree. This episode of Hindustani classical music is dedicated to Late Pt. Jasraj.”

Pt. Sanjoy PrakashDas, an eminent tabla player, was born in 1964 in a musician family of Silchar. He took his training from Shree Uma Shankar Patoa, Pt. Sambhu Nath Banerjee, Pt. Gyan Prakash Ghosh and Pt. Kishan Maharaj. He accompanied many famous artists like Pt. Ajay Chakraborty. He has been serving in the All India Radio as a staff artist since 1986. He was awarded the Sangeet Kala Ratna, Sanskritik Guru and so on.
