14 more tests positive in Cachar on 14 July, day’s total 26

District tally rises to 480

July 14: After 12 persons tested positive in Cachar on Tuesday as per the information provided in the 1st and 2nd slot of swab results, another 14 COVID-19 positive cases were reported later in the night. With this, the total number of patient’s detected as coronavirus positive on 14 July stands at 26 in Cachar. As of now, the district corona tally has gone upto 480. As per sources in the district health department, there is probability of the 4th slot coming up later tonight.

The 14 persons detected positive as per the 3rd slot are UBC NG Bjgyan Singh (48) from DIG (SR) Office Cachar.  He was tested positive vide Assam Targeted Surveillance Program (ATSP). He is asymptomatic. Prakash Chauhan (25) from Hatikuri, Cachar travelled from Bangalore to Silchar by flight. His swab was collected on 12 July. Sahin Ali (19) and Javir Hussain (20), both from Kalain came to Silchar from Hyderabad by air. Their swab samples were taken on 12 July. Another two air passengers from Bangalore, Ainul Haque (28) and Furmot Ali (26) from Katigorah, Lathimara and Kalain respectively also tested positive. Their swab was collected on 12 July and the report came on 14 July.

Apart from this six, another 8 BSF personnel from Dholcherra also tested positive. They are Sunil Singh (25) whose category is not mentioned. Others are Taisraj Singh (27), a patient of fever, Ram Niwaj (27) who came from Rajasthan, Chanda Kumer (27) came from Bihar, Muralidhar Singh (29) also came from Rajasthan, Ramesh Kumar (28) who came from Rajasthan, Raju Ram Tanjani (27) from Rajasthan and Ashok Kumar (30) also from Rajasthan. Most of them were suffering from fever or cough from the last 3 days. Their swab samples were collected on 13 July.

Except UBC NG Bjgyan Singh (48), all other 13 patients in the 3rd slot were reported as symptomatic.
