Another 2 +ve cases detected in Cachar, day’s total 4

July 7: Tuesday recorded 2 more positive cases in Cachar district. These 2 fresh positive cases were reported in the 2nd lot of test results. One of them, a 33-year-old man, Sanjeev Kumar is from Dhalchara BSF Camp in Cachar district. The man was already in quarantine centre at Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Silchar. He has a travel history from Bihar. His swab sample was collected on 4 July and the result was declared on 7 July, 2020. He is asymptomatic.

The second positive case is a 36-years old female, Hasna Begum Choudhury, who hails from Bagabazar MSC in Dholai, Cachar. She was in home quarantine. This lady came in contact with 50-year-old COVID-19 patient Purnima Nath. Her swab sample was also collected on 4 July and the result was declared on 7 July. She too is asymptomatic.

Earlier in the evening of 7 July, 2 cases of COVID-19 were detected in the 1st lot of swab results. Out of these new COVID-19 positive cases, one of them has a travel history from Jammu & Kashmir, who was quarantined at a hotel in Silchar . The patient was identified as 27-year-old Udit Baidya from Kabuganj in Cachar district. He is asymptomatic.

Another case is of a person without any travel history. He is 27-year-old Nobidul Islam from Kanakpur, Cachar and is reported to be symptomatic. The patient developed Influenza Like Illness (ILI) symptoms. This patient also visited some doctors due to health complications. As he has fever & cough, he went to Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). His swab sample was collected there. Later on his report came as positive.
