Only permanent stalls to be allowed to sell goods at Fatak Bazar, New Market & Gopalganj area

July 6: In view of COVID-19 pandemic and and unruly crowd gathering in Fatak Bazar, New Market and Gopalganj area, Silchar Municipal Board has taken some drastic steps. In an order issued by Sumit Sattawan, Executive Officer of Silchar Municipal Board on 6 July, it was stated that only permanent shops/ stalls will be allowed to sale goods at Fatak Bazar, New Market & Gopalganj area. No stalls at “Footpath” will be allowed to do business in these areas.

In case of violation fine of Rs.1000 will be charged on the spot and the sale items may also be confiscated by the authorised personnel  engaged by the Silchar Municipal Board (SMB). It was further stated the order will come into force from immediate force.
