MP Rajdeep Roy distribute free books among HS students of Public School

May 28: State Education Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced some days ago that free text books would be given to the students of Class XII across Assam. On one such occasion, the students of Public Higher Secondary School, Silchar were distributed the text books on Thursday. Silchar MP Dr. Rajdeep Roy in presence of the school Principal Kabita Sen Gupta handed over the text books to the students of the school.

Speaking during the occasion, Dr. Rajdeep Roy urged upon the students to study properly and become responsible citizens of the society. He also advised them to maintain all advisories issued by the government to keep themselves safe during the pandemic. He said, “Always wear face masks or cover your face with a cloth, maintain social distancing and don’t come out of your house until it is absolutely necessary.” He also lauded the efforts of State Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma who is toiling day and night to make the state secure from COVID-19 and at the same time is also striving hard to mitigate the difficulties of the students.

The book distribution programme was organised by the school maintaining social distancing. All students, teachers and staff were also seen wearing face masks and sitting apart from each other. Principal of the school, Kabita Sen Gupta thanked the MP and the state government for distributing free text books among the students.
