Lockdown effect: Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma plays guitar, video goes viral
May 23: India is country rich in talents. However, many such talents goes unnoticed by the world and subsequently gets wasted. But the nationwide lockdown augmented by the outbreak of coronavirus has given people ample opportunity to stay at home and furnish their hidden talents. Social media platforms, especially Facebook and Instagram are flooded with such performances by people who otherwise are involved in their own respective works. Now, not only common netizens, but Chief Minister of Meghalaya too turned out to be an excellent guitarist.
Taking to Instagram, CM Sangma surprised not only the people of Meghalaya, but all netizens when he played “Iron Maiden’s Wasted Years” and that too in a majestic manner. This was a classic piece of heavy metal music from the album ‘Somewhere in Time’ which was released in 1986. In his Instagram post, CM Conrad Sangma wrote, “After a hectic 3 day Assembly session .. unwinding with some iron maiden stuff .. it’s been a long while I haven’t played so I guess a few mistakes ..”
With, 66,195 views, 25,899 likes and more than 1500 comments, the video became viral very soon in social media. Even during this pandemic, art survives indicating that life too will sustain for long years to come and hopefully our planet earth too gets rid of COVID-19 very soon!
