Dance of death in Italy: 800 coronavirus deaths in 24 hours

March 22: Italy recorded the highest one-day toll for any country, surpassing its own previous highest one-day toll of 627. The total conformed COVID-19 cases in Italy stands at 53,578, out of which 42,681 are actice cases, whereas, 6072 are recovered cases. As of now, a total of 4,825 people have died in Italy due to coronavirus.

The hardest hit northern region of Lombardy remains in a critical situation with 3,095 deaths and 25,515 cases. Italy now overtook China as the country register more deaths from the highly contagious virus.

The overall figure of corona affected people in the world context stands at 3,08,261, out of which 1,99,365 are active cases and 95828 are recovered cases. A total of 13,068 people have died in the world due to COVID-19 as of now.
