Fire breaks out in a computer store opposite Silchar Big Bazar

February 10: Fire broke out at around 7.30 AM in a computer store above Sree Textiles, opposite Big Bazar at Nazirpatty, Silchar. Immediately, a hue and cry was raised. Fire engines rushed to the spot and set to douse the flames. The computer store belongs to one Rajesh Lodha, who is presently out of Silchar.

Initially, the firemen found it difficult to reach the spot as the staircase leading to that store is too narrow. However, due to the promptness of fireman, the flames were soon brought under control and the other shops and business establishments located therein the complex were saved. Prima facie evidence reveals that short circuit may be the cause of the outbreak of the fire. Though there was no loss of life, but computer peripherals lodged inside the store were learnt to have gutted.
