Barak Valley Welfare Development Society observes Anti-Human Trafficking Day

January 11: Barak Valley Welfare Development Society (BVWDS), an NGO observed ‘Anti-Human Trafficking Day 2020’ at Panchayat Road, Silchar. During the event, the opening ceremony of ‘Open Shelter Home for Boy’s’ and ‘Street Drama’ for mass awareness of the people against Human trafficking was performed.

The Chief Guest of the programme was Superintendent of Police, Cachar and Assistant Commissioner, District Administration, Cachar. The other dignitaries who graced the occasion were District Chief Judicial Magistrate,  Secretary of District Legal Service Authority, District Youth Coordinator of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, District Superintendent of Excise and Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee, Cachar.

The event started with the inauguration of the ‘Open Shelter Home for Boy’s’ by the dignitaries. All of them highlighted the need for spreading awareness among the people against Human trafficking. A Stage Drama was performed for spreading awareness on current issues related to women and child.
