“Border branch of Assam Police & Foreigners’ Tribunals are illegal foreigner making factories” AAMSU

June 8: President  of All Assam Minority Students’ Union (AAMSU) Rejaul Karim Sarkar on Saturday claimed that the Border branch of Assam Police and Foreigners’ Tribunals are “illegal foreigner” making factories. He further said that these institutions are operating as factories of turning genuine citizens into illegal foreigners.

Making sharp criticism of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Rejaul Karim Sarkar said that the religious and linguistic minorities are being harassed by these officials and the CM is doing nothing to redress their grievance. Citing the instance of Mohammad Sanaullah, he criticised Sonowal for not initiating any action against his detention. He further said, “We are sure 90 per cent of the detained persons will be proved as genuine citizens, if proper investigation is done.”
