Leo Club observes Environment Day by planting saplings at Don Bosco

June 6: All over the world 5 June is celebrated as the World Environment Day. On the occasion of World Environment Day, Leo Club of Silchar organized a tree plantation drive where they planted thirty-five trees and made a sincere effort in making earth a better place for the future generation. The sa[lings were planted by Leo at the new compound of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Silchar.

Principal of the school, Father Nelson Joseph, was very happy by seeing the youths taking such initiative towards protecting the environment. He also assured full co-operation as and when required. Bikramjit Baulia a famous folk singer of this valley also accepted the invitation of Leo’s and supported them in this project. Leo’s expressed heartfelt thanks to the Principal for his benign guidance and support.

The first sapling was jointly planted by Father Nelson and Bikramjit Baulia. The members of Leo also assured the school authority of taking care of the saplings they planted.
