CM’s vigilance cell inspects anti-erosion work of Water Department at Panchgram in 2016-17

June 2: On the basis of the complaint lodged by Hailakandi Unit of BJP Yuva Morcha regarding poor quality of embankment repairing work Panchgram Kalibari area, officers of the Chief Minister’s Vigilance Cell visited the Barak river near Pachgram old market area and inspected the anti erosion work done by Water Department in 2016-17 financial year. The team was headed by DSP Nilotpal Deka.

Suroj Sen, President of BJP Yuva Morcha & Panchgram Gaon Panchayat while speaking with newsmen on Sunday said that the quality of anti-erosion work done on the banks of River Barak at Panchgram some 4 years ago was so substandard that there was no option but to lodge a formal complaint with the vigilance cell of the state Chief Minister.

DSP Nilotpal Deka. was accompanied by a team of engineers from NIT Silchar. They went along the embankment and also talked with the local people of the area.
