Assam University to Host International Literary Festival in November
নভেম্বরে বিশ্বসাহিত্যের মিলনমেলা আয়োজিত হচ্ছে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ৯ অক্টোবর : বরাক উপত্যকা তথা উত্তর-পূর্ব ভারতের সমৃদ্ধ সাহিত্য, সংস্কৃতি, ভাষা ও বহুত্ববাদী ঐতিহ্যকে বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন প্রান্তের সাহিত্য ও সংস্কৃতির সঙ্গে আরও নিবিড়ভাবে যুক্ত করার লক্ষ্যে এক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ উদ্যোগ গ্রহণ করেছে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বাংলা বিভাগ। স্পেন, উরুগুয়ে, ইতালি, সুইজারল্যান্ড, ব্রিটেন ও বাংলাদেশ থেকে বিশিষ্ট কবি, লেখক ও সাহিত্যিকরা বরাক উপত্যকায় আসছেন। পাশাপাশি ভারতের বিভিন্ন প্রান্ত থেকেও কবি, লেখক, সাহিত্যিক, গবেষক ও শিক্ষাবিদরা এই আন্তর্জাতিক আয়োজনে অংশগ্রহণ করবেন। ফলে শিলচর হয়ে উঠতে চলেছে বিভিন্ন ভাষা, দেশ ও সংস্কৃতির সাহিত্যিকদের মিলন ও ভাববিনিময়ের এক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পরিসর। আগামী ১৭, ১৮ ও ১৯ নভেম্বর ২০২৬ আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, শিলচরে অনুষ্ঠিত হতে চলেছে তিন দিনব্যাপী আন্তর্জাতিক সেমিনার ও সাহিত্য উৎসব।

‘সীমান্ত পেরিয়ে সংলাপ’ শীর্ষক এই আন্তর্জাতিক আয়োজনের মূল প্রতিপাদ্য— ‘সাহিত্য, সংস্কৃতি ও এক অভিন্ন মানবতার ভবিষ্যৎ’। সাহিত্য, সংস্কৃতি ও মানবিকতার বিভিন্ন সীমা অতিক্রম করে পারস্পরিক সংলাপ, মতবিনিময় ও সাংস্কৃতিক আদান-প্রদানের একটি আন্তর্জাতিক পরিসর তৈরি করাই এই আয়োজনের অন্যতম প্রধান লক্ষ্য।

এই সাহিত্য উৎসবে ভারত ও বাংলাদেশের পাশাপাশি যুক্তরাজ্য, ইতালি, স্পেন, সুইজারল্যান্ড ও উরুগুয়ে-সহ বিভিন্ন দেশের বিশিষ্ট কবি, সাহিত্যিক, গবেষক ও শিক্ষাবিদরা অংশগ্রহণ করবেন। অংশগ্রহণকারী বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তিদের মধ্যে রয়েছেন আদনান আল-সায়েগ (ব্রিটেন), হুলিও সেসার পাবানেত্তি গুতিয়েরেস (উরুগুয়ে), সাবরিনা দে কানিও (ইতালি), আনাবেল গ্লাদিস ভিয়ার সুয়ারেজ (স্পেন), বালবিনা প্রিয়োর বারবারোখা (স্পেন), লুসিয়া ত্রাপাজ্জো (সুইজারল্যান্ড), মো. আমিনুর রহমান (বাংলাদেশ) । এছাড়াও ভারতের বিভিন্ন প্রান্ত থেকে বিশিষ্ট কবি, লেখক, সাহিত্যিক ও গবেষকরাও এই আন্তর্জাতিক আয়োজনে অংশগ্রহণ করবেন।

বরাক উপত্যকার নিজস্ব সাহিত্য ও সংস্কৃতির রয়েছে দীর্ঘ ও সমৃদ্ধ ঐতিহ্য। সেই ঐতিহ্যকে তার স্বকীয়তা ও বৈশিষ্ট্য অক্ষুণ্ণ রেখেই বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন ভাষা, সাহিত্য ও সংস্কৃতির সঙ্গে আন্তঃসাংস্কৃতিক সংলাপের পরিসরে নিয়ে আসাই এই আয়োজনের অন্যতম উদ্দেশ্য। বরাক উপত্যকা ও উত্তর-পূর্ব ভারতের সাহিত্যচর্চার সঙ্গে বিশ্বের নানা প্রান্তের সাহিত্যিক ও গবেষকদের ভাববিনিময়ের সুযোগ তৈরি হবে এই উৎসবের মধ্য দিয়ে।

এই আন্তর্জাতিক সেমিনার ও সাহিত্য উৎসবের আয়োজক কমিটির সভাপতি হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করবেন আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বাংলা বিভাগের বিভাগীয় প্রধান, বিশিষ্ট কবি ও প্রাবন্ধিক অধ্যাপক সুমন গুণ। আয়োজনের সমন্বয়কের দায়িত্বে থাকবেন আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বাংলা বিভাগের অধ্যাপক ড. বরুণজ্যোতি চৌধুরী। তাঁদের নেতৃত্বে বাংলা বিভাগ এই আন্তর্জাতিক আয়োজনকে সফলভাবে সম্পন্ন করার লক্ষ্যে বিভিন্ন পর্যায়ে প্রস্তুতি ও সমন্বয়ের কাজ পরিচালনা করছে। তিন দিনের এই আয়োজনে থাকবে আন্তর্জাতিক সেমিনার, কবিতা ও সাহিত্যপাঠ, সাহিত্যিক ও গবেষকদের পারস্পরিক সংলাপ, সাংস্কৃতিক বিনিময় এবং বিভিন্ন দেশের সাহিত্য ও সংস্কৃতি নিয়ে আলোচনা।
এই আন্তর্জাতিক সাহিত্য উৎসবে গবেষক, ছাত্রছাত্রী, শিক্ষক-শিক্ষিকা, কবি, লেখক ও সাহিত্যিকরা অংশগ্রহণ করতে পারবেন। আগ্রহী অংশগ্রহণকারীরা তাঁদের গবেষণাপত্র, প্রবন্ধ ও সৃজনশীল কাজ উপস্থাপনের সুযোগ পাবেন। নিবন্ধনের জন্য নির্ধারিত ফর্ম আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ওয়েবসাইটে পাওয়া যাবে।

Way2barak, October 9 : In a significant initiative to connect the rich literary, cultural and linguistic heritage of the Barak Valley and Northeast India more closely with literary and cultural traditions from across the world, the Department of Bengali at Assam University is organising a major international literary event. Eminent poets, writers and literary figures from Spain, Uruguay, Italy, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Bangladesh will visit the Barak Valley to participate in the event. Poets, writers, literary scholars, researchers and academicians from various parts of India will also join the international gathering, making Silchar an important meeting ground for literary exchange and dialogue among different languages, countries and cultures.

A three-day international seminar and literary festival will be held at Assam University, Silchar, on November 17, 18 and 19, 2026. Titled “Dialogues Across Borders,” the event will focus on the theme “Literature, Culture and the Future of a Shared Humanity.” One of its principal objectives is to create an international platform for dialogue, exchange of ideas and cultural interaction that transcends boundaries of literature, culture and humanity.

The festival will bring together distinguished poets, writers, researchers and academicians from India, Bangladesh, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and Uruguay, among other countries. The notable international participants include Adnan Al-Sayegh (United Kingdom), Julio César Pavanetti Gutiérrez (Uruguay), Sabrina De Canio (Italy), Anabel Gladys Viar Suárez (Spain), Balbina Prior Barbarroja (Spain), Lucia Trapazzo (Switzerland) and Md. Aminur Rahman (Bangladesh). Eminent poets, writers, literary figures and researchers from different parts of India will also participate in the event.

The Barak Valley has a long and rich literary and cultural heritage. One of the key objectives of the festival is to bring this distinctive heritage into dialogue with the world’s diverse languages, literatures and cultures while preserving its unique identity and characteristics. The event is expected to provide valuable opportunities for intellectual exchange between literary practitioners and researchers from the Barak Valley and Northeast India and their counterparts from different parts of the world.

The organising committee will be headed by Prof. Suman Gun, Head of the Department of Bengali at Assam University and an eminent poet and essayist, as its president. Dr. Barunjyoti Choudhury, Professor in the Department of Bengali at the university, will serve as the coordinator. Under their leadership, the department is undertaking preparations and coordinating various aspects of the event to ensure its successful organisation.
The three-day programme will feature an international seminar, poetry recitations and literary readings, dialogues among writers and researchers, cultural exchanges, and discussions on the literature and cultural traditions of different countries.

Researchers, students, teachers, poets, writers and literary enthusiasts will be able to participate in the international literary festival. Interested participants will have opportunities to present their research papers, essays and creative works. The prescribed registration form will be available on the official website of Assam University.
