Declare Sept 19 as ‘Zubeen Day’: AAP Assam writes to CM

way2barak, September 16: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Assam, has urged the state government to officially declare September 19 as “Zubeen Day” in memory of singer and cultural icon Zubeen Garg, ahead of his first death anniversary.

AAP Assam president Dr Bhaben Choudhury has written to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma seeking the annual observance, saying it would honour Garg’s contribution to Assamese society, language and culture and inspire younger generations with his humanitarian values and ideals.
