Health camp brings vital medical services to Lakhipur’s Lakhinagar village

way2barak, November : As part of the ongoing celebration of Janajatiya Gaurav Diwas 2025, the District Administration, Cachar, organized a comprehensive Health Camp at Lakhinagar Gaon Panchayat under Lakhipur Development Block on Thursday, reaffirming its mission to make quality healthcare accessible to every corner of the district, particularly among tribal and rural communities.

 

The initiative, held under the active supervision of the Joint Director of Health Services, Cachar, sought to extend essential medical services to people who often face geographical and socio-economic barriers to healthcare. The day-long camp provided free medical check-ups, distribution of medicines, immunization, maternal and child health services, and screening for lifestyle and non-communicable diseases. In addition, participants received counselling on hygiene, sanitation, and nutrition, along with assistance in registration under various government health schemes.

 

The programme drew significant participation from the local populace and was graced by several dignitaries, including Norsing Bey, ACS, District Development Commissioner, Cachar, who closely supervised the arrangements and appreciated the district’s health teams for their proactive outreach. Also present were Rupesh Barman, President, Barman Development Council,Sailesh Singh, Assistant Engineer, Lakhipur; Dr. K.A. Debojyoti Barman and Haripow Rongmei, Social Worker and President, Dimasa Students’ Association, along with other eminent citizens of the district.

 

As part of the initiatives, three Jan Sunwai programmes were also organized at the Adi Sewa Kendra in Rajabazar, Kalain, and Lakhipur blocks, where BDOs, SDO (T&D), GP Presidents, and other officials interacted directly with residents to address local concerns and ensure participatory governance. The events concluded with vibrant cultural performances celebrating the heritage and unity of tribal communities.

 

Reiterating its resolve to uphold the spirit of Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s legacy, the District Administration, Cachar continues to prioritize health, empowerment, and inclusive development for all, ensuring that welfare initiatives truly reach the grassroots level.
