Cachar’s land records services suspended for digitization until November 30
1 day ago
way2barak, October 30: The Office of the District Commissioner, Cachar, has announced the temporary suspension of all land-related services in the Sadar, Sonai, Uharbond, and Lakhipur revenue circles until November 30, 2024. This interruption is essential for the ongoing digitization process of crucial land records, such as Chitha and Jamabandi, which are being integrated into Assam’s Dharitree portal.
This digitization drive, part of the Assam Government’s commitment to streamline land management and bolster transparency, aims to make land records more accessible and efficient. The digitized records will soon be available on the Dharitree portal, ensuring that citizens can easily access up-to-date information about land ownership and transfers.
Due to the suspension, services including land sales, leases, and transfers will be temporarily unavailable. Residents and stakeholders are urged to plan their land-related matters accordingly and cooperate throughout the digitization process, as this initiative is expected to transform land record accessibility for the people of Cachar.
This is stated in a press release issued from the Regional Office of Information & Public Relations, Barak Valley Zone, Silchar, Assam.
