CM launches LS poll campaign from river island Majuli
way2barak, April 2: With a 13km cycle rally in Majuli, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sharma on Monday launched his election campaign for the coming polls. Accompanied by state education minister Ranoj Pegu, Sharma embarked on the rally with a sea of supporters behind him.
Sharma made multiple stops along the route to engage with people, as hundreds of supporters lined up on both sides of the road. As Sharma pedalled through the route, locals offered him traditional Assamese ‘gamosas’.
Speaking to the media after the rally, Sharma expressed confidence that the BJP would win the maximum seats in the coming polls. “We started the Vijay Sankalp Yatra with a cycle rally in Majuli, which is the spiritual centre of Assam. People will bless PM Narendra Modi with over 400 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. The rally was not only for Majuli but for the entire country to seek blessings for PM Narendra Modi to become the PM for the third time ,” he said.
