Silchar girl pledges to donate her eyes on Louis Braille Day

way2barak, Jan.4: Karabi Baidya, a teacher by profession and an alumni of Radhamadhab College, Silchar has pledged to donate her eyes after death on the occasion of Louis Braille Day, 2023. The Pledge card was handed over to her by well-known drama artist of Silchar Pronoy Paul, Divyang icon Rudrani Das, renowned dancer Pompa Choudhary and Mithun Roy of SAKSHAM at Gol Dighi Mall, Silchar.

World Braille Day is celebrated every year on January 4 to raise awareness of the importance of Braille as a means of communication for blind and partially sighted people, and helps advocate for their equal rights and opportunities.  In 2018, the UN General Assembly decided to make it an official observance by proclaiming January 4th as World Braille Day.
