‘Run for Unity’ marks the celebration of National Unity Day in Cachar district

way2barak, Oct.31: Every year October 31 is dedicated to observing the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the first Home Minister of our country who played a vital role in forming states by bringing the princely states together under the Union of India. The day was introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014 with the theme of Run for Unity.

Along with the rest of the country, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 2022 was celebrated on 31 October 2022 in Cachar district also. A huge rally, “Run for Unity” was also taken out in Silchar on this occasion. Apart from this, numerous educational institution also participated in this “Run for Unity.” Around 100 individual ‘Run for Unity’ were taken out to commemorate the day. 

Deputy Commissioner Rohan Kumar Jha flagged off the main “Run for Unity” which then went to the Police Parade Ground. In his speech, DC Jha urged upon the youths to strive hard for maintaining the unity and integrity of the country. Before the start of the run, DC Jha administered the pledge on the occasion of Run for Unity. Also present were the Superintendent of Police and other administrative officers and staff. Students from different colleges participated in the Run for Unity in large numbers.
