An individual being inspired by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, donates 100 ceiling fans to schools under Katigorah block

way2barak, Sept.23: Vidyanjali 2.0 is an initiative taken by the Ministry of Education, Government of India with the aim to strengthen Schools through community and private sector involvement in schools across the country and making the education community stronger. A portal is made available for government and non-government aid and will run with volunteers from any corner of the country.

One of the disciples of His Holy Highness Sri Sri Ravishankar ji of Art of Living, Dr. Pran Kishore Deb got inspiration from his Gurudev and donated many thing for the betterment of the school education. Dr. Pran Kishore Deb, the son of Dr. Purnendu Kumar Deb (Retd. Doctor), is a resident of Hailakandi Road, Silchar.

Dr. Pran was involved as a faculty of Pharmacy in various universities of India, Malaysia and Jordan. In the year 2020, he resigned his job of Associate Professor from Philadelphia University, Jordan due to the outbreak of COVID-19. Since then, he is living in Silchar and Joined Art of Living. Now he is a prominent faculty of Art of Living. Dr.Pran pursued his primary education from Katigorah (26 No Katigorah Model LPS). At that time, his father was posted at Katigorah Hospital.

Earlier in 2019, Dr. Pran Kishore Deb had donated 327 ceiling fans to 48 schools, provided complete electrification facilities to 12 schools, Provided 24 pairs of desk benches to 4 schools, Provided sports kits to 20 schools including football, carom board, badminton sets with flower, cricket bats with stamps and tennis balls etc. (Rs.5000 per kit) and also got constructed concrete flooring and classroom partition for a school.

In 2020, he took a Sankalpa to provide ceiling fans to 100 schools of the village area but he could not do that due to COVID 19. But as a faculty of Art of Living, he tried to keep his promise this time. On 21 September, 2022 inspired by Sri Sri Ravi Sankar, he wanted to create a stress free mind and a violence- free civilised society he has donated 104 Ceiling Fan to all Govt schools and fulfilled his Sankalpa of donating Ceiling Fans to all 100 schools under Katigorah block of Cachar district.

“We all convey our best wishes to him for such an initiative to help the rural students and for becoming a Volunteer of Vidyanjali programme.” stated an official of SSA Cachar.
