Seemanta Chetana Mancha Purvattor celebrates 75 years of India’s Independence in Silchar
Aug. 12: Cachar District Committee & Silchar Nagar Samiti of Seemanta Chetana Mancha Purvattor organised a public meeting at Gandhi Bhawan, Silchar on 12 August to commemorate the 75 years of India’s Independence. DIG, Southern Assam Khagon Jyoti Saikia and Prant Pracharak, RSS, Gaurango Roy graced the occasion as Chief guest and Guest of Honour respectively.
The programme started with the lightning of the lamp followed by theme song of the organisation. Ratnadip Paul, General Secretary of Cachar District Committee delivered the welcome address. He also highlighted various activities of the organisation for the last several years.
Khagon Jyoti Saikia appreciated Seemanta Chetana Mancha Purvattor for their active role in reaching out to the people of border areas. He assured that all possible help will be provided to the organisation in their noble cause. Gauranga Roy narrated the historical facts relating to the India’s freedom struggle. He mentioned the great freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the motherland even before the birth of India’s National Congress in 1885.
In his Presidential address, Dr. Debotosh Chakraborty raised various issues pertaining to India’s Glorious past and the road ahead. He also said, “On behalf of the District Committee, I convey my sincere thanks to all the members of Silchar Nagar Samiti and Cachar District Committee for organising the event so successfully. I also thank Sri Rabin Bhattacharjee (Seva Pramukh, State Executive Committee) for his active participation in the event.” The programme was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Biswabijoy Bhattacharjee followed by the National Anthem.
