1st President of Rotary Club of Hailakandi, Manash Kanti Das passes away

July 25: Renowned educationist and 1st President of Rotary Club of Hailakandi, Manash Kanti Das passed away on Monday afternoon. He was 89. He breathed his last at his residence at Kalibari Road in Hailakandi. As per reports, he suddenly suffered from brain hemorrhage and was admitted in a private hospital at Silchar on last Friday. He was later released as his condition did not improve. Finally, he died on Monday. He has left behind a host of kith and kin. His death was mourned by many throughout the valley.

Manash Kanti Das retired from service in the year 1989 as the Principal of Teachers’ Training College in Nagaland. In his retired life, he was actively involved with social service and was also the 1st President of Rotary Club of Hailakandi.
