Sonapur Tunnel has been opened for two-way traffic: DC East Jaintia Hills

June 20: The Sonapur Tunnel has been opened for two-way traffic. The debris has been cleared. The traffic is flowing smoothly across NH-06 barring few places where the road has been damaged and hence only one-lane traffic is being allowed. This was stated by DC East Jaintia Hills District at around 5.30 PM on Monday.

DC East Jaintia Hills District said, “Request all to avoid all unnecessary travels across this route for now so that the essential commodities vehicles heading to Barak Valley and adjoining states can be expedited.”
