Assam Govt launches its own newsletter ‘Assam Barta’
May 10: Assam government has now come up with its own newsletter “Assam Barta”. This newspaper will inform the public about the policies of the government and its implementation, claimed the state government. In its social media page, DIPR Assam wrote, “To collect the first issue of Assam Barta, write “Assam” & WhatsApp to 8287912158 or open the website asombarta.com.
Bishnu Kamal Bora, ACS, DIPR Assam, who is the Editor-in-chief of Asom Barta (Voice of Assam) said, “This is a monthly newsletter to facilitate a direct engagement of the people of Assam with their government. It will give people the opportunity to know about the developmental journey of the State. This newsletter will set a new benchmark in direct communication between the government and its citizens. It will be published in four languages, Assamese, English, Hindi and Bengali.”
The newsletter, titled Asom Barta (Voice of Assam), will update readers about the latest programmes and policies of the State Government. Citizens, intellectuals, and freelance journalists will have the opportunity to provide constructive suggestions to the Government of Assam via its interactive portal.
