Foundation stone for construction of Anganwadi centre laid by Minister Suklabaidya
March 3: Anganwadi centers play an important role in the physical and mental development of children in rural areas. Every Anganwadi center in the village is working to show the light of development to the children. The remarks were made by Parimal Suklabaidya, Minister for Forests and Environment, Fishery and Excise and MLA of Dholai constituency while laying the foundation stone for the construction of 173 Harinagar Anganwadi Center of Airangmara village panchayat under Dholai assembly constituency of Cachar District on Wednesday.
Minister Suklabaidya was speaking on the occasion and in his address, the Minister also gave a detailed presentation on various development projects of Central and the state government. He said, “During the tenure of the last government, it was not possible to understand what Anganwadi center meant. During the Congress government, all the projects of the Anganwadi Center were misused. But after Chief Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma took charge, drastic changes happened in rural health and education.” He added that 66 model Anganwadi centers have been approved in the entire Cachar and among them 11 are in Dholai.
Minister Suklabaidya said during the six-year tenure of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, various projects including Prime Minister’s Rural Road Scheme, Sarva Shiksha Mission, East West Corridor, Antyodaya Anna Yojana were undertaken. He said the state also undertook various welfare schemes in the five years of the BJP government led by Sarbananda Sonwal and 10 months under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sharma. He added that the foundation stone of about three water supply projects has already been laid under the Prime Minister’s Jal Jeevan Mission project in Dholai. He said that the work of two high schools in Dholai is nearing completion which will be inaugurated very soon. Road repairs from Harinagar to Tapang have already been undertaken to further accelerate the communication of the Irangmara GP.
Speaking on the occasion, Cachar DC Keerthi Jalli said that Anganwadi centres in the villages will be set up with a lot of facilities and parents should ensure that their children are regularly sent to the Anganwadi centers. Cachar Zilla Parishad Chairman, Amitabh Rai also spoke on the occasion.
It is to be mentioned that on the same day, Minister Suklabaidya also laid the foundation stones for the construction of Anganwadi centers of 182 no, Bandhan Gowala Kendra Dwarbandh GP, 173 no Harinagar Kendra Irangmara GP, 28 no, Gandhi LP School Clever House GP, 323 no Natunbazar, Katapahar Darbi GP and 105 no. Ramprasad Pur Dholai GP.
