College students in Assam will now be engaged in identification of beneficiaries of govt schemes
Jan. 1: Ushering in a change to the ongoing process of identification of beneficiaries for availing of various government schemes, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday stated that the college students will now be engaged in this work. From now onwards, the state government is mulling to involve the college students of the state in identification of beneficiaries of government schemes, added the Chief Minister.
Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “During the forthcoming state budget, a new aspect will be highlighted. The college students will be engaged to find out whether the selection of the beneficiaries of government schemes are in order or not. This is because the college students have a soft heart and moreover they are sincere. So now, we will be doing this new thing. Instead of politicians, we will engage the college students for this purpose so that they too get an exposure and at the same time gets practical training on such matters. The state would definitely witness this new measure when the Finance Minister will place the state budget in February or April.”
The Chief Minister on Saturday had a special interactive session with Assam’s esteemed journalists at No. 1 State Guest House, Koinadhora, Guwahati where he apprised them of the achievements of out Govt in 2021, including our fight against COVID-19, excellence in sports & literature, success of Mission Basundhara in resolving land disputes, etc. He said, “We have held 31 Cabinet meetings in the last 8 months, several militant organisations have returned to mainstream, @assampolice went all out in ensuring law & order..”
