2 seats for Bhutanese students to be reserved in medical colleges of Assam

Nov. 21: The Government of Assam has decided to reserve two seats for the students of Bhutan in the medical colleges of Assam. Informing this in a tweet, Indian Ambassador to Bhutan – Ruchira Kamboj, said, “The Assam government has allocated two MBBS seats for Bhutan from this academic year, to foster the vibrant people-to people ties between our two countries.” 

It needs mention here that the two seats which are to be reserved for students from Bhutan would be allotted from the central pool of MBBS seats in Assam medical colleges. Consul General of Bhutan, Phub Tshering had requested the state Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma to grant reservation of seats in medical colleges for the Bhutanese students.
