Streamlining of pension procedure & other major policy decisions taken by Assam Cabinet

Oct. 28: In the weekly Assam Cabinet on 28 October, several key decisions regarding streamlining of pension procedures, cleared appointment of Lovlina Borgohai as DySP, to raise loan from NABARD for infra projects and amend Deuri Council Act among others were taken. The Cabinet Meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.

KEY DECISIONS:

Streamlining Pension Procedures:

  • Kritagyata Portal: Kritagyata portal to be the front-end for processing all pension cases and for matters related to pay fixation.
  • Pension Seva Kendras: Pension Seva Kendras to be set up by AMTRON in district offices of Education Department with installed facilities like scanners, etc. Pension Seva Kendras to be set up by AMTRON for cases of other Govt Dept employees
  • District Authorities: District offices and HoDs like Principals of colleges to be authorised as respective District Authorities for sending pension papers through Kritagyata portal. All District Authorities/ HoDs/ competent authorities to start processing pension proposals within one year of retirement.
  • Commutation of Pension: Notification to be issued for simplification of procedures for commutation of pension within one year of retirement.

Appointment of Lovlina:

Olympic bronze medalist Lovlina Borgohain to be appointed as Deputy Superintendent of Police on probation

Infra Push:

Rs.508.60 crore loan to be raised by Govt of Assam from NABARD for projects sanctioned under RIDF-XXVII. Loan amount to be repaid within 7 years with a moratorium for 2 years at 2.75% interest

Paddy Procurement: 

T160-cr Working Capital to Assam Food & Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd for procuring paddy from State’s farmers by providing them minimum support price of Rs.1,940 per quintal

Orunodoi: 

Orunodoi scheme exempted from the purview of concurrence from October 2021 onwards
