Exemption from mandatory testing on arrival in Assam for those with 2 doses of vaccine & -ve Covid test report

Aug 17: Strict containment measures including continuous screening of incoming passengers through airports, railway stations and roads are being conducted in the state of Assam to prevent spread of COVID-19; Whereas, COVID-19 positivity is gradually decreasing in the state and the country as of now. Therefore, in partial modification of the earlier notification dated 15 July, 2021, certain revised measures were adopted on 17 August, 2021 for ensuring the safety and convenience of all the passengers travelling to Assam through air, railway and road transportation:

1. All incoming passengers, who have been vaccinated with two doses of COVID-19 vaccines and possess such certificate, on production of the same in front of screening Authority, shall be exempted from mandatory testing on arrival at Airports, Railway stations, Road Border Points etc. in Assam provided they also possess a negative COVID test report of samples taken within 72 hours of their arrival in Assam.

2. However, passengers who are symptomatic shall have to undergo mandatory RT-PCR testing at their own cost on arrival at airports, railway stations etc. in Assam.

This notification shall come into force with immediate effect.
