No permission required from DC for registration of purchased flats: Assam Cabinet

Aug 4: The weekly cabinet meeting of Assam government was held on Wednesday under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma. A number of important decisions were taken in the weekly Cabinet meeting today, which includes, to provide relief to Gorkha community, to ensure land rights of indigenous people, initiate major recruitment drive in Education Department including appointment in Bodo, Garo and Hindi mediums, etc.

The decisions taken in the Cabinet meeting are as follows:

Gorkha Community:

No new cases to be registered against Gorkha community in Foreigners’ Tribunals (FTs) Previously registered cases in FTs will be withdrawn.

Myadi Patta:

Land Patta provided to indigenous landless people to be given Myadi Patta from the day of allotment. Patta possessors cannot transfer or sell land for 15 years.

Flat registration:

With a view to ease the apartment registration process, it was decided at today’s Cabinet meet that permission will no longer be required from the district administration to buy or sell apartments in urban areas. The buyer and seller can perform the registration process on their own. No permission required from DCs for registration of purchased flats.

 

Jobs in Education Department:

Total 22,921 posts – 10,000 in Primary education & 12,921 in Secondary education – to be filled up. Special TET for filling up 1,464 posts reserved for ST (Hills) in Education Department. Special TET for recruitment in Bodo, Garo and Manipuri mediums (Recruitment process to start from September 1, 2021).

Appointment:

Former MP Ramen Deka appointed as Co Vice Chairman of State Innovation and Transformation Aayog (SITA) with Cabinet rank.
