Upgrade SMCH to Multi Super Specialty Hospital: Thousand Sayantan gives memorandum to guardian minister

Aug 2: After the death of Sayantan, his friends had formed a group ‘Thousand Sayantans’. They have been striving hard for transformation of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) into a Multi Super Specialty Hospital. On Sunday, Thousand Sayantans met Guardian Minister Ashok Singhal at Circuit House and handed over a memorandum, wherein they reiterated their demand for upgrading SMCH to a multi specialty hospital.

Later on, informing about the outcome of the discussion, members of Thousand Sayantans stated that the Guardian Minister gave patient hearing to their demand. They said, “The Honorable Minister said that he would soon hold a meeting with the SMCH Authority, District Administration and all other departments involved with the issue where Thousand Sayantan boys will be invited and this meeting will be on a single agenda i.e how to upgrade SMCH to a Multi Super Specialty Hospital. He assured to try and solve the long pending issues on spot. The minister also said that as soon as the SMCH Principal gives the requirement, he will try to solve it immediately.”

Thousand Sayantans further reiterated their demand of quick completion of Cath Lab at SMCH and to immediately start the Neurology Department.
