Colleges not to publish any advt for filling up vacant posts until further orders: DHE Assam

July 17: Many posts of Principal, Assistant Professors, Librarians and those of non-teaching staff are lying vacant in the colleges of Assam. Some colleges after completing official formalities were even ready to publish advertisements in local newspapers for filling up such posts. However, a letter issued by the Director of Higher Education (DHE), Assam on 17 July, 2021 asked the Colleges not to publish any such advertisements for filling up vacant posts until further orders.

The letter addressed by the DHE Assam further directed the Principals “to keep in abeyance all the interview for appointment of any post in the colleges.” The letter was addressed by the DHE to all principals of provincialised colleges, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Adarsha Mahavidyalaya (PDUAM), and Govt Model Colleges of Assam. However, the Director of Higher Education (DHE) did not cite any reason for keeping all appointments in abeyance.
