CM Assam reviews Covid situation in the state, orders strict monitoring of district borders

July 11: Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday reviewed the Covid-19 situation prevailing in the districts of Biswanath, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Jorhat, Kamrup (M), Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Sonitpur, and Sivasagar.  Present during the review meet were Health Minister Keshab Mahanta, DCs, SPs and other senior officials.

The Chief Minister directed that preventive enforcements and vaccinations are to be intensified. Taking to his twitter handle, CM Assam wrote, ” I have instructed officials for strict monitoring of district borders and roads to stop trespassing; DCs & SPs have been advised to patrol for effective containment. Officers to seek help of gaon Buras to spread awareness against assembly. Hooch manufacturing units to be dismantled to stop assembly of people. Everyone requested to ensure Covid appropriate behaviour. Precaution is the best prevention.”
