70 +ve cases till 6 PM in Cachar on Saturday, 3 deaths at SMCH
June 26: A total of 70 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Saturday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 8,658 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 70 were found positive, whereas the reports of RT-PCR tests of the day were still not available. It needs mention here that 124 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Friday.
Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 25 June to 5 PM on 26 June) witnessed demise of 03 Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. Out of the 3 deceased, 01 is from Karimganj district, 01 from Cachar and 01 from Hailakandi district.
The deceased were identified as Radhapati Lohar (65) from Loairpowa in Karimganj district, Chandra Mohan Singha (72) from Bilaipur in Hailakandi district and Subodh Chandra Bhattacharjee (86) from Malugram, Silchar.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 26 June, there were 138 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 61 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 77 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 11 patients were put under ventilator support and 82 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 09 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 15 of them were discharged.
