Water level of Barak at Annapurna Ghat increasing, flowing at 17.38 mt at 2 PM on Saturday

June 4: Due to incessant rainfall since the last few days, the water level of river Barak has again started to rise. On Friday afternoon, the water level at Annapurna Ghat was gradually increasing. From 2 AM on Saturday, the water level of Barak increased from 17.24 cm to 17.38 cm at 2 PM.

As per report received from Assam Water Resource Department, river Barak at Annapurna Ghat, Silchar at 2 PM on Saturday, was flowing below the danger level and was recorded at 17.38 metres. The danger level at this point is 19.83 metre. The water level is increasing at 2 cm per hour.

The highest flood level at this point was recorded at 21.763 on 11 September, 2007.
