4 more deaths registered in last 24 hours at SMCH
Oct. 22: The coronavirus pandemic has now led to a procession of death also in Barak Valley. Since the last few days, the valley witnessed many deaths, although all of them were not certified as COVID-19 deaths. However, this also cannot be ruled out that all of them were infected with coronavirus. Those COVID positive persons who die due to comorbidities are usually not certified as ‘Covid-19’ death by the State Death Audit Board.
On Thursday, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) informed that in the last 24 hours, the Valley witnessed 04 more deaths at Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH). Out of them, 02 are from Hailakandi district while the rest 02 are from Karimganj. The 04 deceased were identified as:
- Arjun Debnath (62) from Hailakandi was admitted at SMCH on 17 October at 5.59 PM. He died at 10.10 PM on 21 October. His death was certified as Non-Covid death by the State Death Audit Board.
- Baby of Sadia Begum (06 days) from Badarpur in Karimganj district was admitted in SMCH at 2.11 PM on 20 October. The baby lost its life at 2.00 PM on 21 October. It was certified as Non-Covid death by the State Death Audit Board.
- Baby of Puja Paul (2 days) from Dholchora in Hailakandi was admitted in SMCH at 2.30 PM on 20 October. The baby breathed its last at 11.40 PM on 21 October. It was certified as Non-Covid death by the State Death Audit Board.
- Baby of Priya Das (2 months 9 days) from Karimganj was admitted at 4.40 PM on 20 October. The baby died at 6.40 PM o 22 October. It was death was certified as Non-Covid death by the State Death Audit Board.
