Numbers rise again; 41 tests +ve in Cachar on Wednesday, district tally rises to 10,450

Active cases 135 in Cachar

Nov. 4: On Wednesday, a total of 41 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1703 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 39 persons were found positive, whereas only 02 persons were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Wednesday night.

With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 10,450. Further, a total of 10,278 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 37 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 135 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 25 persons were found positive in Cachar on Tuesday.

In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Wednesday said that in the last 24 hours, Throat swab of another 483 persons were collected. 566 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which, 02 of them tested positive. Further, 493 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done at SMCH in the last 24 hours, out of which, 06 were found positive.

Apart from this, 03 new patients of COVID-19 were admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours and none were discharged. At present, there are 21 active patients at SMCH, out of which, 11 are admitted in ICU and 01 patient is in ventilation support. Further, 258 persons have donated plasma which was administered upon 487 patients.

Dr. Gupta further informed that in the last 24 hours, none have died due to COVID-19 at SMCH. As of now, there were 173 COVID related deaths in SMCH. Of the 173 deaths, 63 of them were certified by the State Death Audit Board as COVID-19 confirmed deaths.
