2772 patients discharged in Assam on Thursday
August 20: On Thursday, 2772 patients were discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care Centres in Assam. With this, 63,120 patients were till now cured and discharged in the state. At present, there are 22,708 active cases in Assam. In a tweet, State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “”2772 patients discharged today So many recovered patients today surely a matter of satisfaction. Feeling happy. Proud of our doctors.”
Also, 1735 new positive cases were detected in Assam. With this, the state tally of novel coronavirus cases has gone upto 86,052. During the day, Cachar district registered 175 fresh cases of COVID-19. Further, another 8 persons died due to COVID-19 in Assam, thereby taking the death toll of the state to 221.
