5-day workshop on national school safety policy going on in Cachar

Jan. 9: A 5-day workshop on National School Safety Policy (NSSP) started in Cachar district on 7 January and will continue till 11 January. Three days training will be imparted on school focal point to the teachers and two days training will be imparted to the engineers on RVS and non-structural mitigation. A total of 55 teachers from 55 different schools and 40 engineers from different departments participated in the workshop.

R Lalsim in presence of Sumitra Dev, District Elementary Education Officer, Cachar, Satyabrata Chaudhury , Professor NIT Silchar, Subhrajit Dutta. Asst professor NIT Silchar in presence of officers and other officials of DDMA Cachar.

DDC cum CEO DDMA Lalsim in her inaugural speech emphasized on the importance of providing safe environment to children at school and community level. She also discussed about the importance of national school safety policy and its implementation as directed by Supreme Court of India.

The basic idea of this dual workshop is to involve all stakeholders from different segments of society for creating an environment for children which is safe and disaster resilient. Resource persons from NIT Silchar, Assam University, Education Deptt, Geological Survey of India and F&ESS participated in this programme.
