1973 more +ve cases registered in Assam, tally rises to 94,592

August 25: Another 1973 positive cases were reported from various parts of Assam. With this, a total of 94,592 cases were reported till now, out of which, 21,239 are active cases. In a tweet, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Alert ~ 1973 #COVID cases detected today out of 34307 tests done in last 24 hours Positivity Rate- 5.75% Kamrup M- 510, Cachar- 149, Jorhat- 132, Kamrup (R)- 121, Dibrugarh- 116.” Though the minister in his tweet mentioned 149 positive cases in Assam during the day, but Cachar District Health Department informed that the active cases on Tuesday stands at 163.

Further, 8 more persons lost their lives due to novel coronavirus in Assam, thereby taking the death tally of the state to 260.
