75 tests Covid +ve in Karimganj on Saturday, 112 discharged & 1 death registered
The district has currently 1,031 active COVID-19 cases
June 19: Karimganj registered 75 fresh COVID-19 cases on Saturday. The district has currently 1,069 active COVID-19 cases, while 112 patients have been discharged from hospitals and home isolation on Saturday. 3,929 swab samples were collected during the day. It needs mention here that 116 positive cases were detected in Karimganj on Friday.
Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 18 June to 5 PM on 19 June) witnessed demise of 03 Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. Out of the 03 deceased, 02 are from Hailakandi and 01 is from Karimganj. No fatalities were reported from Cachar at SMCH on Saturday. The deceased from Karimganj was identified as:
- Safiqur Rahman (54) from Kaliganj in Karimganj was admitted at SMCH on 15 June. The patient, however, passed away at 7.45 AM on 19 June.
